Specialist Teacher & Assessor: Dyscalculia and Dyslexia
BA(Hons); PGCE in Secondary Maths: Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching, Diagnosing and Assessing Dyscalculia; SpLD APC (Patoss).
I am an experienced secondary maths teacher with over 20 years experience. Throughout my teaching career, I have provided individual and small group support to build student confidence, overcome maths anxiety and to achieve academic success. I have been privileged to support many neurodiverse learners, ensuring they achieve their potential despite any barriers they may face. I understand how difficult maths/numeracy can sometimes appear and so my teaching focusses on building confidence and supporting learners to understand mathematical concepts through the use of a multisensory approach.
I am fully qualified and accredited with PATOSS to provide formal diagnostic assessments for Dyscalculia and Examination Access Arrangements. I work closely with school SENCo's within the Independent and State sector in Cheshire and surrounding counties, as well as providing screening and assessment reports for parents.
In addition, I provide training on dyscalculia, how to support learners with maths difficulties, and supporting parents with numeracy in a variety of educational settings.
